Team Building
There
are many different kinds of teams. Most often we deal with work
teams; however, there are family, church, athletic, volunteer
organization and other types of "teams" as well. All will
benefit from these seminars. We are skilled at tailoring
programs to meet our client's specific needs.
BUILDING TEAMS THAT WORK!
Do your teams
work? They'd better. America has gone mad for teams. They are
proliferating in industry, government, small business and
not-for-profits and they promise to be a part of the landscape
for a long time to come. But despite their popularity, most
organizations don't know how to make teams successful. And it's
costing them money.
This multi-day
seminar provides you with everything you need to know to make
your teams work. Using the team building classic,
Climbing from the Fifth Station
you’ll learn how to make teams successful from design to
delivery. The seminar challenges cherished beliefs about team
building while showing you how to generate spectacular
productivity gains. Learn how Station Teams deliver 200% to 400%
more solutions than traditional teams at a fraction of the cost.
Discover the popular management tool that is responsible for up
to 96% of your lost creativity. Find out how anyone on the team
can boost productivity by 8% to 20% with no additional training
and at no additional cost. Best of all, the techniques are
intuitive, common sense and ready for implementation now.
Participants
in this program also benefit from the feedback provided by two
of the best organizational development tools available
today—CPP’s MBTI and Apter International’s AMSP. Together these
tools will show you how your strengths influence the team and
how you can flexibly respond to a rapidly changing environment
in ways that get the results you are after.
The following
programs can be offered individually or in various combinations
based on client needs.
A RULE AND THREE PRINCIPLES:
A quick course in leadership. The four items discussed will
transform an organization when applied. This hour-long seminar
is ideally suited for product launches, lunchtime learning
classes, extended staff meetings or any situation in which you
want to challenge the thinking of your team.
CHAOS:
This program reveals individual and team behavior that
can determine success or failure. Using validated and highly
reliable instruments, the secret order in the apparent chaos of
both individuals and the team organization will be exposed. With
this information, team makers, leaders and members can easily
implement productive new strategies. This seminar is offered in
both full and half-day programs. Some pre-work is required.
CONFIDENCE:
The wellspring of confidence is belief. When
you believe in something, you accept and have conviction about
the truth, actuality, or validity of that thing. This program
explores the full dimensions of confidence and helps team
makers, leaders and members recognize the markers of confidence
and the indicators of helplessness. Importantly it demonstrates
how productivity gains of 30% can be achieved through simple, no
cost strategies. A minimum of two hours.
STATI0N TEAMS:
Too often teams aren't assembled. They just happen. A
project comes along and a team is assigned to work it. The group
gathers and makes an attempt to figure out a solution, but
trouble starts brewing almost at once. Only some of the people
do any work. Some people don't get along. Meetings are frequent
and mind numbing. No one is quite sure what the assignment
actually is. We call well-assembled teams Station Teams. This
program deals with the nuts and bolts of actually assembling a
team that works. A minimum of two hours.
MOTIVATION: What is it
that moves someone to action from a position of comfortable
stasis? The answer is motivation. Motivation is the process of
stimulating you to action. It takes a need, desire or some other
impulse and incites a response. Motivation is the high-octane
fuel of success and, as such, it's vital that individuals and
teams capitalize on its power. This program will reveal the
rarely discussed formula for motivation. It will show you to
exploit a simple technique that has, alone, produced 300%
productivity gains. A minimum of two hours.
DECISION MAKING:
In order
to make a decision we first gather information and then make
judgments about that information. This is true whether we are
making personal or team decisions. But team decision-making is
definitely more complex. For one thing, seven people on a team
will initially bring seven different points of view as well as
senses of priority, commitment and urgency. These and other
complexities require that teams pay careful attention to the
three-part structure of a team decision. You see, the decision
is really just the burger on the bun. It's literally sandwiched
between two equally important elements in the process of
reaching a final decision. This program shows you how to manage
the process from beginning to end. It gives you the tools to
avoid "avalanching," and offers a matrix to ensure you get all
the pertinent data. Three to four hours.
